AgileJuice.com is a blog dedicated to open discussion of the challenges real teams face as they move large, traditional enterprises to agility. The blog is moderated by senior software development professionals in the telecom & cable industry who are themselves building enterprise class systems, and who are therefore personally facing many of the challenges of implementing agility at scale in a traditional software enterprise. In addition, we are fortunate enough to have the support from people who play a variety of different roles within the enterprise agile world. Our current posters play the following roles in their respective companies:
- Product Managers & Product Owners – Guide iteration teams
- Agile Enterprise Evangelists – Get companies to the tipping point of using enterprise scale agility
- Technical Architects – Set intentional architecture across all teams
As professionals, we recognize that confidentiality is a requirement for much of what we do. To that end, in this blog we intend to discuss the real world challenges in an open, public and yet simultaneously confidential, forum. In this way, we hope to encourage open and frank discussion of the real issues real teams face, without the risk of accidentally casting aspersions on our teammates and our employers. After all, they have demonstrated real leadership by allowing us to try to help them reinvent themselves. We owe them this much.
We will cover a variety of topics along the way. Many will be applicable to any size agile effort. Regardless of size, the reality of agility is that it requires transformation. It may be as simple as initiating a small skunk works project. Unfortunately it will likely involve much more, including the transformation of organizational structures.
We dedicate this blog to those real teams and those real companies who have the courage to try.
For additional information on how our site is structured, check out our Welcome post. Thanks and happy transforming!
